Ingredients:
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 ripe tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced (optional, for some heat)
- Juice of 1 lime (my mexican friends said it’s a must.)
- Salt to taste and pepper
Instructions:
- Cut the avocados in half lengthwise. Remove the pits and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
- Mash the avocados to your desired consistency.
- Add the diced tomato, chopped onion, cilantro, and minced jalapeño pepper (if using) to the mashed avocados.
- Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture to add flavor and prevent browning.
- Sprinkle salt to taste, starting with a small amount and adjusting as needed.
- Gently stir all the ingredients together until well combined.
- Taste the guacamole and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more lime juice or salt and pepper if desired.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, nachos, or your favorite Mexican dishes.
